Where Floristry Meets Form: Botanical Mannequins at Garden House Floral
Flowers are never just flowers. They are texture, movement, color, and story carefully layered to create something that feels both natural and artful. Recently, that philosophy took on a new form, quite literally.
For weeks leading up to the November 6, 2025 Vogue: Threads of Hope Fashion Show, hosted by Mosaic Counseling at Spring Lake Country Club, Donna was quietly at work on something extraordinary. Each centerpiece was a small mannequin dressed entirely in natural materials — dried petals, leaves, moss, and textured fibers — handcrafted into something that felt less like a table arrangement and more like wearable sculpture.
The same principles that guide every arrangement — balance, proportion, intention — were at work here. But instead of a bouquet, the result was expressive, character-driven, and entirely one-of-a-kind. Some figures leaned earthy and grounded, layered in moss and natural fiber. Others played with contrast: moody, deep tones softened by dried petals and trailing textures, with a sense of movement that felt gathered, not placed. That sense of movement came full circle when one of Donna’s designs was worn by a model on the runway itself.
At their core, these figures are a reminder that flowers don’t have to stay within traditional boundaries. They can be styled, sculpted, and transformed into something entirely unexpected, something that invites a second look.
